Hunters Glen Elementary School students were among those to get a first-hand look at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land’s new exhibit, The Zula Patrol: Mission Weather. Employees from Fluor Corporation, the corporate sponsor of the exhibit, invited the students to tour the exhibit during a live news broadcast with KHOU’s (Channel 11) Chief Meteorologist, David Paul.
The tour was held to emphasize the partnership between Fluor and the museum to promote science learning among students.
During their visit, the students explored the interactive exhibit, learning about clouds, precipitation, wind, temperature and other weather phenomena. They also paid close attention to detail as they were challenged to answer questions such as: “Which planet is closest to the sun?” “Does the temperature get warmer or cooler in the shade?” and “What is used to measure wind direction?”
The students’ excitement in touring the exhibit left museum representatives pleased and eager to welcome more school-aged children.
