Great turnout at 3rd annual Classic Chevrolet chili cook off
In the name of charity benefitting the Sugar Land police, the 3rd Annual Classic Chevrolet Chili Cook Off last Thursday was characteristic of the Don Kirkstetter owned dealership’s mantra— relax and enjoy the difference. Those attending sampled this one, that one, the hot, sweet and non-traditional, the best chili’s in Fort Bend County. And who didn’t notice Jim Kij dancing to “Tighten Up” with that featured live performance by R&B musician Archie Bell? Some boomers will remember the Atlantic Records hit topped the pop charts back in 1968, when Archie Bell did it with the Drells.
“It really was a fun time and we’re just glad we were able to do that,” said Classic Chevrolet’s General Manager Mark Kolon. The monies benefitting the local police fund will soon be announced for the third round of the dealership’s all expense paid gathering about chili, friends and fun.
