Barbara Dougherty, 80, passed away at her home in Sugar Land on Sunday, September 2, 2007. Barbara was born on January 30, 1927 in Los Angeles, California to Elizabeth Wright Desselle and Leroy Cuttel Desselle. She married Stirling M. Dougherty, Jr. on September 4, 1947. She taught school in the Sugar Land area for over 20 years. One of her true passions was quilting, which she participated in until her death. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Bruce Dougherty and his family; niece, Chris Mahn and her family; and many friends and former students.

A memorial service celebrating Barbara’s memory will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 5th of September, 2007 in the Chapel at The Settegast – Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek with Rev. M. Eugene Vickrey officiating. She will be privately interred at Houston National Cemetery with her husband, Stirling.
