James “Jim” Kurth Field, age 63, beloved husband, understanding father, and doting grandfather, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008.
He was born October 6, 1944, in Charlotte, NC, to Robert Marshall Field and Marion Catherine Kurth Field. After graduating high school, Jim served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Next he began a career in the food service management industry. This occupation led him to Columbus,
MS, where he met his loving wife of twenty-five years, Shelby. Jim was then transferred to Houston. In 1997 he began his association with the Texas Refinery Corporation.
Jim’s hobbies were golfing and bowling. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Missouri City.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Shelby Field; daughter, Cyndi Roberts and husband Tim; grandchildren, Kurth and Kate Cole, and Dallas Johnson; sister, Marcia Hohl and husband Charles; brothers, John Field and wife Suse, and Joe Field and wife
Bonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2008, at First United Methodist Church of Missouri City, 3900 Lexington Blvd., Missouri City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Missouri City or to the
American Cancer Society.
