Funeral services for Pastor Willie Mae Scott, 92 of Missouri City (formerly of Angleton, TX) will be Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, 209 Broadmore in Fresno, Tx. with Minister Glenn E. Cheeks, officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Brazoria.
She died Friday, May 29, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sugar Land, Tx.
Willie Mae was the pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Angleton for over 35 years, active in worldwide missions, and completed The Bible Training Institute for Ministry. She enjoyed playing the piano, guitar, tambourine (loved musical instruments), singing and she also loved to cook and to travel.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, Deacon Robert A. Scott Sr.; 2 sisters, Min. Annie B. Williams and Gladys B. Carter; 5 brothers, James R. McNeil, Sherman A. McNeil, Promise J. McNeil, Charles H. McNeil and Harris Beverly; 1 grandson, Russel A. Wilson.
Mrs. Willie Mae is survived by 3 sons, Robert A. Scott Jr.(Melva) of Austin, Rev. John H. Scott (Venita Diane) of Angleton and Min. General I. Scott Sr. of Missouri City; 3 daughters, Min. Alice S. Jonas (Austin), Min. Mary A. Scott of Missouri City, and Jo A. Wilson (Rubin) of Austin; 4 sisters, Min. Ivy N. Lightener of West Columbia, Mary O. Lucas (John) of Stafford, Min. Sarah E. Johnson (Alphonse) of Angleton and Florence M. Jones of Houston, Tx.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Stephon Lightener, Roderick Lightener, Dwight Jonas, Patrick Tolbert, John Scott Jr., Ronald Lucas, John Lucas Jr., Michael Lucas, Glennie Carter Jr., Tyrone Carter, Dennis Johnson, Brian Johnson, Alphonse Johnson Jr., and Lloyd Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Lee Scott, Robert Denson, Glennie Carter Sr., John D. Lucas Sr., and Alphonse Johnson Sr.
Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2009, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, 301 N. Parrish in Angleton. There will also be viewing at Church of God of Prophecy, 209 Broadmore in Fresno on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Send online condolences to www.dixonfuneralhome.com.
