Dovie M. Logue, age 79, of Austin, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006.

She was born January 9, 1926 in Crecy, Texas.

Dovie was raised in Grove-ton, Texas and graduated Valedictorian from Groveton High School in 1944. She was a resident of Pasadena and Houston most of her life.

She was very active in the Republican Party.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis M. Hoffman of Danville, Virginia, Claudia Logue Smith of Baytown, Texas, Joseph W. Logue and wife, Carolyn S. Reed of Sugar Land, Texas, Laurie J. Logue of Austin and Leslie E. Castleberry and husband, Keith of Niceville, Florida; three brothers, Jack, Donnis and Ramond Witt; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in a private ceremony at a later date.
