Martin Edward “Marty” Davenport passed away Monday, July 17, 2006 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Victoria September 18, 1949 to Tapply Hurt Davenport and Thelma Ann Hardy.

Marty is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Bettie) Nolan Davenport; sons Stephen Davenport, Patrick Davenport, Michael Davenport, Daniel Davenport and wife, Andrea; grandsons Tyler Davenport and Kai Davenport; all of Missouri City, Texas.

Marty also leaves behind his mother, Thelma Davenport of Bossier City, Louisiana; three sisters, Gay Nell Misso of Dumfries, Virginia, and Vicky Beveridge and Kathy Delcambre of Birmington, Alabama, and one brother, Tapply, Jr. (Tappy) Davenport of The Woodlands, along with three nieces and five nephews.

Marty will be missed by the many friends he made through his involvement with youth soccer, little league baseball, swim teams and his years on the Missouri City Parks and Recreation Board.
