Older Americans from Fort Bend County celebrated

On Friday May 24, the Fort Bend Senior Trust Alliance and the Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels programs celebrated Older American’s Month by honoring older Americans turning 100 years plus.

The local Centenarians were presented with plaques and certificates from local officials.

The Senior Trust Alliance arranged for a dance presentation, by the Ad Deum II Dance Company, a poem “Today We Play” written and read by Ray Wathen (STAP Phone Assistance Program).

The Honorable Vincent Morales, Jr., Mayor of Rosenberg, The Honorable Allen Owen, Mayor of Missouri City, The Honorable Bill Dostal, Mayor- Pro-Tem of Richmond, Taylor Landin Representing Congressman Pete Olsen and Sugar Land City Council Member Amy Mitchell were in attendance.

Nine Centenarians were honored in front of 200 local seniors.
