Congressman Pete Olson was on hand to throw out the first pitch for Garrett Gamble day at the West Sugar Land Little League this past week.
The second annual day honors the local Sugar Land hero and fallen Marine. Boy Scouts from local troop 38 were also in attendance to conduct a flag ceremony honoring the day. Olson addressed the crowd of little league fans along with friends and family of Lance Corporal Garrett Gamble.
“It was truly an honor to stand in the long shadow of this great young man who exemplifies selfless heroism. Remembering his actions on a Little League field is a fitting opportunity to teach other young people what genuine heroism is and gives them someone to look up to. Words cannot describe our gratitude for his sacrifice and service to our country. May each of us remember him and all those that have defended our liberty. Semper Fi Garrett.”
