One fatality in domestic dispute
Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to what was initially believed to be a home invasion robbery March 22, but it turned out to be a deadly domestic dispute.
At about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, deputies arrived at a home in the 14000 block of Panhandle in the Townewest subdivision concerning a “shots fired” incident.
Detectives determined it was a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and his girlfriend’s children, Darlecia Johnson, 17, Lavaris Harris, 19, and a 16-year-old son. There also was a three-year-old girl in the house.
During the disagreement between the man and children, the victim, Bennett White, 40, sustained mortal wounds.
The three older children are in custody, facing murder charges. The 16-year-old male is at the Fort Bend County Juvenile Detention Center. Johnson and Harris are in the Fort Bend County Jail.
The cause of death has not been determined. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will perform the autopsy.
