The City of Rosenberg is proud to invite the community to a parade honoring the Rosenberg National Little League (RNLL) on Saturday, August 27, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at City Hall.
Rosenberg Mayor, Vincent M. Morales, Jr., has declared Saturday “Rosenberg National Little League Day” in the City of Rosenberg to honor the hard work and dedication of all Rosenberg National Little League players, and to express the community’s pride for the excellent representation the 13 and 14 year old All-Star team has provided for Rosenberg in their quest for the Junior League Baseball World Series title.
The parade will welcome the boys and coaches home from their play over the last week in Michigan. The team represented the Southwest Region in the Junior League Baseball World Series in Michigan August 14 to 20. The parade procession will follow 4th street from City Hall to Avenue J, where it will cross over to 3rd Street and continue through downtown to 3rd Street Park.
Mayor Morales stated, “The young men who make up the 13 and 14 year old All Stars are excellent representatives of our community and the RNLL as a whole. Their hard work and focus exemplifies the Little League pledge to always do one’s best, and is a testament to the quality of the Rosenberg program, and the successes of RNLL in molding young men and women of character, courage and loyalty through its baseball and softball programs.”
Saturday’s parade will celebrate the 13 and 14 year old All Star’s World Series run, and will progress from City Hall to 3rd Street Park (800 3rd Street in Historic Downtown Rosenberg). A rally hosted by the Downtown Merchants of Rosenberg (DMOR) and RNLL will follow the parade in 3rd Street Park. 3rd Street will be closed from Avenue H to Avenue F to accommodate those wishing to participate in the parade and rally.
Mayor Morales continued, “I call on all citizens and businesses in the community to show your RNLL pride by wearing red and coming out for the parade and rally on Saturday, and by decorating your homes and businesses to show your support and thanks for the team’s stellar representation of the Rosenberg we all know and love to the rest of the State and Nation.”
