A group of smash-n-grab robbers hit Gordon’s Jewelry in First Colony Mall, last Wednesday, about 4:30 p.m. The jewelry store became the latest in what appears to be a trend in smash and grab robberies. Sugar Land Police spokesman Doug Adolph said, “Four hooded men entered the store wearing jeans. They smashed a glass display that contained jewelry and took a small quantity of watches.”
While police are not yet ready to conclude that the other three similar smash and grab robberies around the Houston metro are related, it is certainly getting their attention. Adolph said detectives are going over all the available surveillance video to determine if they can identify any of the suspects or a specific commonality between this case and the others that have recently occurred in Houston.
“Four black males wearing hooded shirts and jeans entered the business and smashed a glass counter with hammers,” said Adolph. The robbers entered and exited the mall at the door nearest to the jewelry store.
They were in the store for less than a minute and were able to get away with watches and other undisclosed jewelry. No one was physically injured and no weapons were displayed. The men entered the store smashed the glass in the cases and fled.
