Every year, the Quail Valley Exchange Club awards multiple scholarships to area High School Seniors that are destined for college and are in need of assistance. “These students must be solid academically, but more emphasis is placed upon their having overcome significant challenges to emerge as students of outstanding character and citizenship,” said Bob Mayo, who chairs the program.”
“This year, the Exchange Club provided $22,000 in scholarships. To identify these scholars an interview team visits the five area high schools serving students from Missouri City” – Elkins, Dulles, Hightower, Marshall and Willowridge. This year’s winners were Matthew Price, Faith Joseph, Melina Sitaras, Kayla Thornton Amber Cogan, Allison Green, Darius Dillard, Khloe Thibadeau and Jamarcus Thompson.
In addition to providing these scholarships, The Exchange Club makes annual donations and supports programs for CASA, the Escape Center, Fort Bend Human Needs and provides for economically disadvantaged students and families at Christmas time.
