TOWNSHIP ROOF? Why is the roof only ½ “replaced”? The roof that was replaced was done because of a “leaking” issue. There have not been any complaints of any leaks on the other sections of the roof.
WHY IS THE CITY TAKING UP THE GOLF PATHS ON THE FORMER EXECUTIVE COURSE (MacNaughton Park?) They have GREAT ideas about making a “real” hiking trail. Many were a hazard as far as “tripping” and for bike riders. The lay out of the “new” trail will be different because they need to make sure the park drains properly.
DO YOU NEED A CURB OR STREET REPAIR? Contact the CITY. (281-403-8500) ask for the Service Department.
DROUGHT IS TOUGH ON OUR TREES. “Watering the trees in your yard is important to their long term health. If you live adjacent to the golf courses or parks or green belt areas in Quail Valley and are concerned about the health of these trees, you can help. The golf course irrigation system is not currently set up to get water to all the trees that line the course. Getting water to these trees over night (this will not interrupt golfers or maintenance crews), will help to sustain these trees through this dry period.” ( Tyson Stittleburg, PGA, General Manager/ Head Golf Professional,Quail Valley Golf Course)
IF YOUR TREES WERE PLANTED LESS THAN 3 YEARS AGO? You need to water them WELL once a week. They are more in danger because their roots are not well established.
HOW YOUR TREES “TALK”. Established, older trees (when struggling to live) drop leaves/branches and “bud” out again. Trees that are dying: leaves turn brown but do not fall off.
MORE ON SAVING OUR TREES. Next week.
USE OUR CITY PARKS! Our park system offers (FREE)places for bicycling, walking, outdoor play, and nature walks.
