PROUD “Phone/Fax” HOTLINE “Back- in- Service”. (281-438-4714.)
OOPS. Last week’s HOTLINE was written in February,2011. Somehow my computer found it and sent that one to the STAR.
“HOW ARE WE DOING?” When you access our web site are you having any problems?

HUGE BLACK POLES??? (Cartwright @ FM 2234) They are part of the plan to control traffic in Missouri City. They will provide travel time information to CITY, for use on CITY website for the public (similar to what you would see on Transtar’s website. The information is gathered in the same manor, via eztags or Bluetooth. City’s first implementation will be by eztag.
DONATIONS FOR WILDFIRE VICTIMS. Please pack “neatly” in Lawn & Leaf plastic bags that have “drawstring closures”.
READY FOR “HOME TOWN” BASEBALL? Sugar Land Skeeters’ skyboxes sold out with 10 year commitments. More than 2,000 season tickets have been sold. Regular tickets will be available for about $8 each.
ACTING CLASSES FOR CHILDREN. Fort Bend Theatre is launching Fall Acting Classes for children ages 5-7 and 8-18 beginning September 10. www.fortbendtheatre.com .
CARTWRIGHT “esplanade” TREES LOOKING BAD. FYI: The trees planted by the CITY (mainly in the parks) under 3 years ago are getting extra water. The mature trees can usually survive the drought. The CITY is watering ONCE A WEEK over 1,000 trees planted under 3 years ago.
CORNER FM 1092 @ CARTWRIGHT? This El Dorado #15th golf hole has regular irrigation. The two large oaks planted in 1999 are doing just fine as is the ivy covered wall.
YARDS WITH DEAD GRASS? This is not necessarily the result of owners NOT watering their grass.
TEST FOR CHINCH BUGS? I remember putting an open ended coffee can into the grass and putting water inside it. If bugs floated to the top it was supposed to be “chinch bugs”. I have no idea if this is still correct. Meanwhile go to this web site for more information: http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/creatures/orn/turf/southern_chinch_bug.htm
