REMEMBERING: Barbara (Babs) Nesbitt Miller

Barbara (Babs) Nesbitt Miller

Barbara (Babs) Nesbitt Miller

Last week was an especially sad one for the Fort Bend community, which continues to mourn the loss of Barbara Nesbitt “Babs” Miller. She was 68.

She died unexpectedly in her sleep on Feb. 2 at her Sugar Land home.

Miller, the wife of District 26 State Rep. Rick Miller, was a community leader of deep Christian faith who was passionate about pro-life causes and promoting Judeo-Christian roots and values.

She served on the board and was a past president of the Spirit of Freedom Republican Women and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention four years ago.

Miller grew up in suburban Washington D.C., and met her husband, then a Navy Officer, in 1968. They lived all over the United States due to Rep. Miller’s Navy Career before settling in Texas 16 years ago.
