Sugar Land is going to become the movie-going hotbed of the Greater Houston area.
The city already has an AMC 30 next to the First Colony Mall, and the Flix Brewhouse coming next year.
On Tuesday, CultureMap of Houston reported that Alamo Drafthouse will open a location in Sugar Land’s Imperial Market, a new multi-use retail development next to Constellation Field.
There are currently Alamo locations in Katy and in the Vintage Park/Klein area. The Austin-based company shows movies, but also serves food/alcohol. It’s also well-known for hosting special events such as sing-a-longs and classic films. Previews at Alamo Drafthouse movies are much more creative than standard movie previews.
