Katy area resident Robert Serrett has announced his intent to run in the 2018 Republican Primary for Fort Bend County Treasurer.
“After meeting with outgoing treasurer Jeff Council, I decided to make the race for the 2018 GOP primary,” Serrett said.
Serrett has been active in Fort Bend as the president of the Falcon Ranch HOA for over eight years. As an Army veteran, business owner, and Boy Scout leader, he has been constantly involved with utilities and mobility issues.
The county treasurer is the chief custodian of county finance. Duties include receiving and disbursing all monies belonging to the county. Serrett said he believed his business and community background would be an asset to the office. He further said it would be an honor to serve all the people of Fort Bend County.
