Ribeiro honored

Leslie Ribeiro of the Fort Bend County Women’s Center was named the 2016 recipient of the annual Carol Rees Award presented by the Fort Bend County Crime Victims Response Team.

The presentation was made at CVRT’s Crimes Against People Conference held at the Stafford Centre in Stafford, Thursday Feb. 11.

Attending are some of the CVRT members: Debbie Morin, CVRT President Amy Cummins, Susan Gray, Leslie Ribeiro, Irene Rios, Lida Reed and Denise Gruwell.

The award is named for the late Carol Rees, who was one of the first victim advocates in Fort Bend County and worked for the Rosenberg Police Department.

The CVRT is comprised of victim service professionals from organizations such as the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, law enforcement agencies, the Fort Bend County Women’s Center and numerous other caregivers.
