Richmond’s 175th Birthday Celebration event needs a logo, and the committee for this event is asking the community to help.
“Richmond is celebrating their 175th birthday is more than a milestone, it is an important accomplishment. So, we need a logo to put on tee shirts, memorabilia, posters, and other media and marketing materials,” said Rebecca Maitland, chair, Richmond’s 175th Birthday Celebration and president, Historic Richmond Association.
Everyone in the community is invited to submit an entry.
“We would like a logo that can be reproduced easily, which means a simple design, without too much detail. Also, if it is black and white or maybe just one or two colors, that would work,” Maitland said.
The entries will be judged by a panel of committee members for the 175th Birthday Celebration and the prize for the winning entry will be a $200. The deadline for entries is postmarked by July 1 2012, and the winner will be announced July 12.
The City of Richmond has collaborated with many of the organizations in the community, such as Historic Richmond Association to plan and organize the celebration, being held September 15, in historic downtown Richmond, with the parade kicking off at 10:00 a.m.. This is an all-day event, and free to the public.
“There will be fun for the entire family and we look forward to seeing the community enjoying the festivities on September 15,” Maitland said.
