Rosenberg City Council persons joined project team members to break ground on the city’s new Animal Control Facility. The project will construct an approximately 2,600 square foot facility that will be home to the City’s animal control officers and animal kennels.
The new facility will be located immediately adjacent to the existing Rosenberg Animal Control facility on Blume Road. The facility will include improved areas for animal prep and care, a designated room for visiting prospective animals for adoption, and a covered sally port for improved building access and animal transfers. It will provide enough space for the City’s two animal control officers and an additional staff person in the future, and the building is designed for expansion toward the rear of the property as the need arises.
Additionally, the project includes an approximately 2,500 gallon rainwater harvesting tank – a first for the City of Rosenberg. Construction is scheduled for completion in just over six months.
