In addition to entertainment, the day will include an official ceremony beginning at 11:30 a.m., with a welcome by Anna Gonzales, and proclamation presentation by the City of Rosenberg, along with a flag presentation, and the National Anthem. DJ Ray with All Out Sounds Entertainment will provide music throughout the day, interspersed with Mariachi performances by Mariachi Urgulio Juvenile, and Folklorico dance performances by Guadalupe Ballet Folklorico.
Classic Chevrolet Sugar Land and Ray Aguilar are the entertainment underwriters, and Classic Chevrolet will host hourly prize drawings throughout the event.
Brazos River Provisions/BR Vino will sponsor a jalapeño-eating contest, and there will be plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy, including a piñata event and a Kid’s Zone sponsored by Paramount Printing. Fort Bend Family Health Center will also be on hand offering free health screenings.
As part of the day’s events, the Fort Bend Hispanic Heritage Forum will be drawing the raffle winner of a 2004 Harley Davidson Fat Boy sponsored by Southern Comfort Custom Cycles. Tickets are available for purchase by calling (832) 582-1020, and you need not be present to win! Proceeds will benefit the FBHHF’s scholarship fund.
“Summer Fun in Historic Downtown Rosenberg” events are held in Rosenberg’s Historic Downtown District from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and are designed to showcase Downtown and help celebrate Rosenberg’s heritage while providing free, family-friendly activities and entertainment throughout the day.
