Schiff Elementary has announced that it will hold its 2013 Shark-a-thon on Friday, April 12, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. All community residents are invited to participate to support the local school.
The Shark-a-thon is Schiff Elementary School’s annual fundraising event and is the largest fundraiser for the school in terms of total dollars raised. Ideas currently under consideration for this year’s proceeds will go towards continued investments in classroom technology, an outdoor pavilion, and additional interior beautification.
The 2013 Shark-a-thon will consist of games, inflatables, a rock wall, gyro spin, laser tag, food, raffle and a silent auction. Tickets are available for purchase the day of the event at the front of the school.
Schiff’s principal Mary Brewster states, “Our recent Shark-a-thons have raised enough funds to build an incredible playground and a shade structure, a broadcasting system, extensive classroom technology and a science lab in four short years. We are grateful for our community that has been so supportive of our school. This year we will continue to build on what we’ve accomplished.
Schiff Elementary is located at 7400 Discovery Lane, in Sienna Plantation, Missouri City. Schiff Elementary opened in the fall of 2008 and is named after Jan Schiff, a beloved educator who dedicated her life to public school education.
