School burglar busted by Rosenberg police

August 15, 2012 by FortBendStar

By LeaAnne Klentzman

A Rosenberg repeat offender has been arrested and charged with three LCISD school burglaries. During the investigation into a burglary at Lamar Junior High in Rosenberg, Investigator Randall Leonhardt developed Johnie Lee Rodgers, 51, as a suspect said Assistant Rosenberg Police Chief Dallis Warren.

He went on to explain that during the investigation Rodgers admitted to Leonhardt that not only did he burglarize the school on August 9, 2012 he also burglarized the Lamar Development center.  Rodgers also admitted to burglarizing Lamar High School back on June 11, 2012 said Warren.

On August 12, 2012 Johnie Lee Rodgers was arrested by Sergeant Billy Hammack on a warrant issued by Judge McMeans for burglary of a building. Rodgers has a lengthy criminal history in Fort Bend County for burglary and other assorted charges dating back to 1981.  His last burglary case appears to have been filed by indictment in 2011.

Rodgers was taken to the Fort Bend County jail where he is under a $50,000 bond.
