Courtney Jean Selser and Gary Dean VanDenBerg were united in marriage on August 10th, 2013 at the Bar Bay Ranch in Durango, Colorado. Pastor Steve Thorney, dear friend of the bride’s family, performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Linda Selser of Durango, Colorado (formerly of Missouri City, Texas), and the granddaughter of Ernest and Nancy Selser of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jose A. and Adelma De Santos of Corpus Christi, Texas. The bride is a graduate of Elkins High School in Missouri City, Texas and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Courtney is an employee of Vectra Bank in Durango, Colorado.
The groom is the son of Cleda VanDenBerg of Durango, Colorado. He is a graduate of Durango High School and attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and the University of Colorado in Boulder. Gary is the Information Systems Manager at Parelli Saddles in Bayfield, Colorado.
Serving her best friend as maid of honor was Kassandra Hogue of Missouri City, Texas. Bridesmaids included the bride’s sister, Emma Selser of Durango, Colorado, the bride’s cousins, Lauren and Lia Carabajal of Katy, Texas, and friends Taylor Posten of Houston, Texas and Danielle Shepherd of Seattle, Washington.
Serving as best man was Sean McCarthy of Seattle, Washington. Groomsmen included the bride’s brother, Andrew Selser of Durango, Colorado, as well as friends Joshua Levine of San Diego, California, Daniel Barbey of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Michael Glover of Seattle, Washington, and Christopher Brophy of Durango, Colorado.
Jackson Dean VanDenBerg, son of the groom, served as ring bearer, with the assistance of Teryn Watters of Durango, Colorado, cousin of the groom. Katherine and Madeline Alvarado of Erie, Colorado, cousins of the bride, served as flower girls.
The bride wore a stunning Modern Cinderella ball gown, as if picked right out of a storybook, from the Alfred Angelo Disney Fairytale Bridal Collection, featuring a dramatic, cathedral length veil and elegant tiara.
Courtney and Gary would like to thank Todd and Bonnie Barbey for allowing their special day to take place at the beautiful Bar Bay Ranch. They would also like to thank the many family members and friends that traveled from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Washington, California and Minnesota to attend the wedding and associated festivities. We love you all!
Following a honeymoon trip to Seattle, Washington, the couple will reside in Durango, Colorado.
