Open your home to the world and make a global connection: Host an AFS Exchange Student!
AFS Intercultural Programs/USA is looking for a family in Sugar Land to host an AFS Exchange Student. This 15-year-old Japanese girl is already attending Austin High School but her current host family cannot host for the more than a couple months and so she will be in need of new host family host from November until the end of the school year.
This bright young woman is an avid dancer, trumpet player and a member of the United Nations Club. She is close with her family, loves animals, and looks forward to sharing her native dishes with her host family.
Host families provide a bed and meals, share their daily lives with students, and help guide and support students as they would their own children.
“Hosting gives your family an entirely other dimension,” said local host mother Anne Lewin. “It gives me another kid to love; it expands our family’s awareness. Hosting with AFS goes beyond a cultural exchange, it’s a love exchange.”
By hosting an AFS student, you and your family will help build bridges of intercultural understanding while connecting with an outstanding young person and sharing your community.
