Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library will feature free Winter Movie Fun in December. Escape the hustle and bustle of the holidays with a relaxing movie at the library. A different movie will be shown each time in the Large Meeting Room of the library, located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City.
The movies will begin on Saturday, December 15, with a 2004 family comedy starring Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Aykroyd. With their daughter away, Luther and Nora decide to forego the commerciality of the holiday season, and take a trip to the Caribbean instead. When their daughter decides at the last minute to come home for the holiday, Luther and Nora must scramble to get food, presents and decorations ready in time. This movie is based on the 2001 novel Skipping Christmas, written by John Grisham, and is rated PG. Showtime is 2:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room.
On Friday, December 28, enjoy an action-mystery film based on the titular character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Robert Downey, Jr. stars as the legendary detective who must outwit and bring down his fiercest adversary yet, Professor Moriarty, who might just be his intellectual equal. The professor’s capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, this movie is rated PG-13. Showtime is 2:00 pm, in the Large Meeting Room.
The movies are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information about the featured movies, call the branch library at 281-238-2900 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
