Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sienna Branch Library, 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Mother Goose Time, Toddler Time, Story Time, Kinder Korner, and After-School Breaks — every month. These programs are free and open to the public.
Mother Goose Time, which takes place on Tuesdays at 10:00 am, provides caregiver/infant multisensory circle-time activities — including simple sign language, folksongs and lullabies, and finger plays — that are especially designed to stimulate babies’ social, emotional, and physical development through rhythm and music. Mother Goose Time is intended for infants from age 1 month to 12 months. Program dates are December 4, 11, and 18. The library will be closed on December 25.
Toddler Time — Thursdays at 10:00 am — offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. Program dates are December 6, 13, and 20. Toddler Time will not take place on December 27.
Pre-school children, 3 to 6 years of age, will enjoy Story Time, where they hear stories, watch movies, and participate in age-appropriate craft activities, beginning at 10:00 am each Wednesday. Program dates are December 5, 12, and 19. Story Time will not take place on December 26.
Two special Holiday Story Times are planned in December for the whole family to attend. The first Holiday Story Time will take place on Saturday, December 15, beginning at 10:00 am, in the Small Meeting Room. The second Holiday Story Time will take place on Monday, December 31, beginning at 2:30 pm, in the Small Meeting Room.
Pajama Night Story Time — which takes place every Monday at 6:30 pm — gives families an evening option for some activities presented during the day time. Program dates are December 3, 10, and 17. The library will be closed on December 24, and Pajama Night Story Time will not take place on December 31.
Kinder Korner — a time for kindergartners to enjoy stories, movies, crafts and other activities – normally takes place on the 2nd Wednesday, beginning at 4:00 pm. The program on December 12 will be “It’s Lost!”
The After-School Break — crafts, movies, stories, and more for school-aged children in grades 1 through 5 ONLY – takes place on the 4th Thursday, beginning at 4:15 pm. The After-School Break on December 27 will be “Winter Wishes.”
