Skateboarding enthusiasts at Sartartia Middle School now have a formal meeting group thanks to the efforts of four people who helped establish a skateboarding club at the school.
Principal Ginger Carrabine approved the creation of the club after reviewing a petition from student Matthew Jacobs. With assistance from math teacher Chris Spisak and parent Kelly Kallina, the club was formed to provide skateboarders with an outlet for sharing sporting news and ideas regarding skateboarding gear, safety issues, skateboarding maneuvers and more.
The school also offers a safe and fun environment for skateboarders to skate. The club meets every Thursday from 4:00 to 5:15 pm on campus.
