The Skeeters came back for another inspiring win Monday night, topping the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, 7-4. Sugar Land starter David Pauley shut out the Blue Crabs through six innings, but his gem dissolved in the rainy conditions as he allowed three runs in the seventh inning.
The Skeeters stormed back with five runs in the seventh on a string of six hits, interrupted only by an intentional walk delivered to Travis Scott. It was a bases-loaded single by Jeff Dominguez that brought Dominic Ramos and Michael Rockett home and put the Skeeters ahead at 4-3. The club pushed across two more runs that inning, claiming a 6-3 lead headed into the eighth.
Relievers Roberto Giron and Gary Majewski extinguished the Blue Crabs’ late comeback bids and closed out the contest for a 7-4 win.
