After taking the first three games of the series, Sugar Land looked for the four-game sweep Monday night against the Long Island Ducks and did it with a 4-2 win.
It was a pitching duel through the first five, as the Skeeters Michael Nix and Ducks Bob Zimmermann both retired 12 in a row at one point. It was scoreless through the first five innings until both teams exchanged runs in the sixth and the game was tied at 1-1. Long Island untied it though in the bottom of the seventh on a two out RBI single by Kraig Binick to take a 2-1 advantage.
In the top of the eighth Sugar Land received an RBI single by Jeff Dominguez and a clutch two out double by Josh Pressley that drove in two, as the Skeeters tallied three runs to take a 4-2 lead, which would be your final. Roberto Giron pitched the eighth and Gary Majewski picked up the save in the ninth to close it out.
The Skeeters have returned home for their final homestand of the regular season, as they take on the York Revolution in a six-game series. In game one Sugar Land will send out RHP Greg Aquino (7-3, 4.23) vs. LHP Chris Cody (14-8, 3.08) for York.
