There’s one thing about having cancer….When you have cancer, you have an excuse to wallow around in bed a lot. I LOVE to wallow around in bed but have always felt guilty about it. Now I can do it to my heart’s content and not feel guilty. When people call (Oh, yeah, I’m now accepting calls) I readily admit that I am in bed, instantly reminding them without me having to say it, of my sickly state.
This is just terrible…..A new YouTube video with the theme (don’t let your kids or momma read this) “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp (Superintendent)” is just terrible. You can see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY0o7900Hbo or you can go to YouTube and search for the title.
I don’t care if you lay off a whole bunch of teachers, some who are the sole support of their family, and at least one of them probably supporting a sick member of the family, you just really shouldn’t make videos with Superintendent Tim Jenney dressed up in a pimp daddy costume, standing in front of the FBISD administrative offices and counting off his salary in ring-bejeweled fingers. It’s just wrong!
The Grammy award-winning song (I can’t believe that happened) “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” is playing in the background, but many of the words have been changed. For example, at several points in the song, a voice-over says, “Parents are dissing the gent.”
Someone is really getting even!
I don’t know who made it, but someone creative put it together. It says it was made by FuzzyFish Productions and a fish symbol is used as its logo. Of course, we all know that the fish is the universal symbol of Christianity but I just don’t think there is anything religious about this video.
I’m outraged, outraged I tell you. Make sure you don’t watch it or you will be outraged also!
Next someone should make a video of our State Representative Charlie Howard because we should blame him just as much for the fiasco in Austin which has caused the school districts all over the state to be facing financial ruin. Charlie has been an enemy of public schools almost ever since he was elected for the two terms he said he would serve which he later changed to three. Then that Christian man completely forgot about his promise and has been there for 20 years.
If you don’t think Howard is an enemy of public education, then look at all the bills he has sponsored and supported over the years. That is all available on the state legislature web site.
Charlie belongs to that group of people who want to privatize education so only some people can get it and only some people can profit by it. Charlie has always wanted his hands in your pockets. Ask any of his former employers, employees, or partners.
People are lining up to run against him. When you have that many people planning to run against you, it means you have lost the confidence of the people you serve. I know of at least four candidates. Maybe it’s time to hang it up and let someone else work on the problems.
Are you embarrassed to be a Republican yet?…..And speaking of the state problems, what is wrong with Governor Rick Perry? I know a young man from Paint Creek Texas doesn’t know just a whole lot about economics, but you would think he would know when it is raining. That’s one thing West Texas ranchers are familiar with. Why is he so stingy with the Rainy Day Fund? Is it because he wants to keep it for his business buddies as incentives to create jobs? He’s doled it out for that in the past and as far as I know, not one Texas job has been created.
We’ve never elected a governor in recent history that was so clueless about the problems facing the state, and we’ve re-elected him record times. What is wrong with us?
Our state is facing record deficits and he is living in a $10,000 a month pad while the governor’s mansion is being renovated. You have to wonder about the arson committed on the mansion. Who paid for that? I’m just saying…
He took federal stimulus money and complained about it all the while he was using it to balance the state budget instead of creating jobs as it was supposed to do. And all the while he was espousing for Texas to secede. I think arson is a petty crime compared to that.
Perry is the perfect example of the Peter Principle. He was promoted past his ability. He made a pretty good state legislator. (He blew the whistle on Fort Bend’s then representative Jim Tallas and his girlfriend. Perry was Tallas’ office mate.)
Then he was secretary of agriculture and he did pretty good at that. After all, he grew up in a rural atmosphere at Paint Creek.
But they haven’t seen him in Paint Creek in years and Perry hasn’t paid attention to the state’s business in years. His only attribute is his good looks.
Crash and burn…..When Susan DeQuesney’s website “Juanita Jean, The World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon” ran a blurb last week and put in a link to the “Star” about Deputy Craig Brady’s internet crime DVD which featured him and his ugly boots in a campaign photo on the front cover, it was picked up by “Crooks and Liars” and it tied up Susan’s web site for several hours.
I have to remind you that if Brady would use county money to campaign for office, what would he use his office for once he was elected?
Go live…..this week the “Star” will go live with its new web site. We will have the same address but we will try to have daily updates. AND we will be able to use video.
If you shoot video of a local event or meeting, please e-mail it to us. At this time, we can’t afford to pay, but we will give you credit.
Our daily updating may take us a week or two to get acclimated. After all, we’ve had a weekly deadline for 30 years. It’s going to be different to have a daily deadline. Bear with us.
