According to sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel, a 64 year old woman was checking herself out at Kroger’s in the 9300 block of Highway 6 near Bissonnet in the Mission Bend area, about 8 pm that night, and after she was finished checking, she looked through her bag and realized that her wallet was missing.
“Sheriff’s office detectives reviewed the surveillance footage from the store, and also reviewed footage from a surveillance camera at a nearby Wal-Mart where the suspect used one of the stolen credit cards,” said Haenel.
Haenel described the suspect as a black male, about 5′ 9″, with a slender build and a bald head. He was wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt. Haenel said,” The suspect is shown lifting up a black jacket to conceal his movements around the shopping cart where the victim’s purse was located.”
According to authorities, this same subject has been linked to three other similar cases in Fort Bend County.
Information leading to the arrest and charges on the man or others involved in these cases could earn a reward of up to $5,000.
