Families with children of all ages are invited to celebrate their Spring Break with special Spring-Fling activities at the First Colony Branch Library during the week of March 11-15, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2121 Austin Parkway in Sugar Land. Children can relax and have fun with movies and crafts at the library, as they enjoy their break from the regular school routine.
On Monday, March 11, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, enjoy Springtime Origami. Learn how to turn simple origami shapes into flowers, butterflies, bugs or birds.
On Wednesday, March 13, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, stop by for a Green and Gold Scavenger Hunt. Wear leprechaun green or gold (or both!) and hunt for lucky treasure hidden in the library.
On Friday, March 15, enjoy a recently-released animated feature film about a video-game villain named Ralph, who longs to be known as the good guy. In an attempt to win a medal proving that he truly is a good guy, Ralph jumps from one arcade game to another, looking for opportunities to be the hero. Ralph’s special skill, however, is wrecking things, and he inadvertently creates chaos wherever he goes. When Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade, his only hope is to team up with a young trouble-making glitch from a candy-coated cart-racing game who just might be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a good guy. Showtime is 2:00 pm. This film is rated PG.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the branch library at 281-499-4100 or the library’s Public Information Office at 281-341-2677.
