The 2011-2012 school year marked the 20th year anniversary for St. Laurence Catholic School (SLCS). SLCS kicked off our year-long celebration with our Opening Anniversary Mass and Reception on September 2, 2011. The school held its closing 20th year celebration Mass on May 11, 2012. The Mass was celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop George Sheltz, who was ordained a bishop just nine days ago along with Father Drew Wood, our St. Laurence Parish Pastor. Students in grades first through eighth helped participate in Mass through being lectors, reading petitions, bearing the gifts, and playing instruments during our offertory song. Parents, alumni parents, grandparents, and friends joined our students and faculty and staff in worship, celebrating the past 20 years and welcoming the 20 more that is to come for SLCS.
Mission Statement: As a pastoral instrument of the Church, SLCS sees as its mission the development of the whole Christian person. We will prepare our children to relate positively with the larger society by providing a program of Christian values, strong academics, social skills, and community service. Just as the Holy Trinity permeates the life of the Church, the personal relationship of parent, child, and educator gives life to our school.
