Working in the tradition of the St. Laurence Catholic School service program, our 7th graders adopted the Muscular Dystrophy Association for their 2010-2011 class service project. One of their classmates is challenged by muscular dystrophy and has been a role model to many of the students, teachers and parents of the SLCS community since he arrived on campus in his kindergarten year! Team Jacob wore bright orange shirts emblazoned with Jacob’s favorite saying, “Always look on the bright side of life”. The 7th graders with the help of the Leo Club and Student Council, held a bingo fundraiser, they sold t-shirts, collected donations and raised just over $9,400 for the cause! Shown are SLCS students and faculty supporting Team Jacob.
