The St. Laurence Chamber Singers will open their 11th Concert Season with “Journey to Bethlehem,” featuring Handel’s Messiah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 6, at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd. in Sugar Land.
In addition, the program will feature works by Ola Gjeilo, Franz Biebl, Z. Randall Stroope, and John Rutter, plus the premiere of a newly-commissioned piece written for the St. Laurence Chamber Singers by a local composer. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will be held immediately following the performance.
The concert will be performed under the direction of Kevin Klotz by professional orchestral musicians and the St. Laurence Chamber Singers, an auditioned classical choral ensemble dedicated to performing sacred masterworks.
