One of the benefits to being a municipal school district is that the City of Stafford can legally provide funding for programs. A great program being offered to Juniors at Stafford High School is the SAT prep course. The first 75 students to place a $50 deposit (this money will be refunded upon completion of course) will be enrolled in the College Prep, LLC program.
Comparatively speaking, students who take this course score an average of 90 points higher on the SAT than students who do not. In a report released earlier this year by the Texas Education Agency more students are taking the SAT, however, test score averages were down. The exam has three parts: reading, math, and writing, which is worth 2400 points (800 per section) that will all be reviewed in this course.
Last year, approximately 360 students in the State of Texas made a perfect score on the test. Dr. Hindt announced that he’d like to see students from Stafford MSD make this list.
The prep course would normally cost $259 per student, but the City of Stafford unanimously approved the $19,425 request. This is a great opportunity, so hurry and hold your student’s spot.
