The Dulles Academic Decathlon team competed in the 6A large school state final with 39 other top-tier Texas teams in San Antonio. The nine students captured Dulles’ first state championship since 1987, defeating all 39 teams at the meet with a team score of 49,717. The team took home 32 event medals as well as four overall individual medals. Each team member got a $1,200 scholarship as well as several individual scholarships for a team total of $19,000. Dulles High School is the only FBISD team to win a state title for Academic Decathlon.
