Sugar Land Animal Services will help sell plush puppies at this year’s Christmas Tree Lighting event to support efforts that place dogs and cats with caring families.
Look for the shelter’s booth in Sugar Land Town Square on Dec. 5 from 5 – 8 p.m. to learn about adoptable animals, programs provided by Animal Services and Christmas specials, including the plush puppies.
The stocking stuffers are being sold throughout the holidays for $8.99 while supplies last. The promotion is a partnership with Raising Cane’s in Sugar Land, and all net proceeds will benefit the Sugar Land Animal Shelter.
The Christmas sale is one of many holiday promotions to help find forever homes for animals available for adoption.
An animal angel tree, special adoption fees and help from Santa continues through the month of December. Visit the Animal Services webpage at www.sugarlandtx.gov for upcoming events and specials.
A “Santa Special” adoption fee of $20 is available on all cats and kittens through Dec. 7. Animal Services hopes this special rate will bring the gift of a new home to the cats that were recently showcased at a Mega Adoption event.
“We are trying to get into the holiday spirit and increase the chances of our animals finding a home for the holidays,” said Animal Services Manager Kathryn Ketchum. “After all, what better gift could there be?”
Regular adoption fees for dogs and puppies are $105 and $90 for cats and kittens. These fees include vaccinations, spaying or neutering and a microchip with lifetime registration.
All animals come with a sleepover option that allows prospective families to try out a pet for three to five days. If it is not the perfect fit, they can bring them back. If it is love at first sight, they need to return to Animal Services and complete the adoption.
