On Saturday, April 21, the Fort Bend County Museum Association is delighted to roll out the traditional red carpet for its gala fundraiser, the Lone Star Stomp XXIII. This year’s theme, ‘Stompin On the Wild Side,” promises an upscale and sophisticated evening of entertainment and true Texas hospitality. Chairman Becky Covell vividly describes the evening’s events as “not to be missed!” Proceeds from this annual event support the educational programs and preservation efforts of the Museum Association.
Hues of bronze and black in an animal print theme will bring a dash of exotic flare for a stylish night of dancing, dining, and socializing. Steve Onstad’s popular crew at The Swinging Door will be serving their mouth-watering “Hogs and Chicks” specialty menu of roast pork loin and marinated chicken breasts with all the trimmings. The Lone Star Saloon will be open all evening serving complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks.
Chairman Covell explains her ambition for this year’s event, “I want to create a big, memorable party for this year’s Stomp. I wanted to get the right band – one with lots of energy and a good mix of music, so everyone will have a good time. We are excited to have the Original Triumphs back again to keep the dance floor stompin.”
Museum Executive Director Candace Jones is delighted to acknowledge one of Fort Bend County’s well-known couples, Lori and Tom Shirley, as the 2012 Honorary Chairs.
Co-Chairman Karen McCarter and her hard working posse have lined up a wide array of exciting Live Auction packages.
Those signing up to attend the 11th annual Vintners Celebration will enjoy an array of fine wine during the Stomp in anticipation of the October event. Jan and Lee Leaman will be hosting this very popular affair in their Richmond home. Tickets are $100 each and limited to the first 100 people.
Lone Star Stomp XXIII “Stompin’ on the Wild Side” will premiere on Saturday, April 21 from 6:30 to 11:30 pm at the George Ranch Covered Arena. Sponsorship levels are $5,000, $3,000, and $1,500. Ticket prices are $65 per person and tables can be reserved for any size group of 8 or more at the individual ticket price.
