Fort Bend ISD students and employees will forever be saddened by the tragedies of 9/11 that resulted from the attacks against the U.S. on September 11, 2001. In memory of the victims who lost their lives, FBISD schools held special tributes to honor them and commend first-responders who help save lives each day.
Bush High School senior, Johnny Sanchez, created a “You Are Not Forgotten” mural that hangs in his school’s Commons area. The mural features the names of the 9/11 victims and heart-felt messages from Bush students, faculty and staff.
Clements High School social studies and U.S. history students prepared a 9/11 Hall of Honor that includes student-designed posters and a U.S.-shaped photo collage honoring the men, women and families that were directly impacted by the 9/11 attacks.
The annual Patriot Day celebration at Settlers Way Elementary School included a tribute to first responders (including area police officers, fire fighters and EMS personnel). Students and staff were also encouraged to wear our patriotic colors of red, white and blue to commemorate the occasion.
