Sugar Land councilwoman sworn in

The Sugar Land City Council canvassed the official June 10 runoff election returns on June 20, and Carol K. McCutcheon received her oath of office for District 4.

McCutcheon, a retired engineer, replaces Councilmember Harish Jajoo who chose not to seek re-election. Councilmembers Steve R. Porter, Bridget R. Yeung and Amy L. Mitchell received their oaths of office on May 6 for Districts 1, 2 and 3, respectively. They were unopposed in the May 16 general election.

McCutcheon is a 23-year Sugar Land resident and community leader who served many years as a neighborhood representative on the First Colony Community Association. She currently serves on Sugar Land’s Land Use Advisory Committee and is a past member of the Charter Review Commission.

McCutcheon is a graduate of Sugar Land 101, the Sugar Land Police Academy, the Sugar Land Fire Academy, the Sugar Land Airport Academy, the Fort Bend Leadership Forum, Leadership Houston, Leadership Texas and Leadership America.
