Sugar Land Exchange Club: $105,000 for local charities this year

March 6, 2013 by FortBendStar

It’s now official, the Sugar Land Exchange Club will top $100,000 as its contribution to local charities this year by $5,000.  All “Thanks to the generosity of the Fort Bend Community, “according to prepared statements sent by the organization.  It looks like incoming President Judge Robert Kern may have quite a challenge at topping this year’s 26th annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser held at Fluor Daniel just the other day.  It was such a great success that the place ran out of spaghetti…a club first over the past 25 years!

Title sponsor for the 4th year, Don Kerstetter of Classic Chevrolet, along with Jabez Foundation, Fluor Corporation, Gallery Furniture, BBVA Compass Bank, The Marketing Department, bizINTOUCH, Champion Technology, Twin Peaks, Mitchell & Duff, LLC, You Only Younger MedSpa, Farha Ahmed, PLLC, Hardee Investments, First Tire and Automotive, Silver Eagle Distributors, Coca Cola and Republic National Beverage were significant with their sponsorship support.

Here’s a glimpse of the grand spaghetti dinner.

Spaghetti Dinner event chair Jim Kij joins volunteers, Jessica Bernard, Venessa Mora and Brittany Wilson, and takes a deserving quick wink during this moment of the SL Exchange Club fundraiser held at Fluor Daniel.
Fort Bend County Constable Trever Nhels and his kids, Wyatt and Parker, were among the hundreds enjoying the fun and festivities along with Mark Kolon of Classic Chevrolet.
“Shopping” at the SL Exchange Spaghetti Dinner’s silent auction are Gay and her husband, Sugar Land Mayor James Thompson.
