Sugar Land resident, Leola Sanders Huey is an 85 year old author and the matriarch of her family. Her books are a legacy for her family. She writes about her family during the era covering the 1920s through the 1940s in Argenta/North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Leola’s books are exciting, humorous and filled with emotion. She was diagnosed legally blind in 2010 after publishing her first book “Oneida the Plight of a Single Mom,” but she was not discouraged. Not long after publishing her first book, she published her second book “On the Wings of Imagination.” She is currently writing a sequel to her first book.

She is actively involved in the Fort Bend community. She participates in the Fort Bend Independent Living Center where she facilitates a writing guild and a support group for the visually impaired. She regularly solicits support from individuals and organizations in the Fort Bend community to conduct informational/educational seminars for attendees at the Fort Bend Independent Living Center.
