Sugar Land Town Square is pleased to announce the Sugar Land Junior Superstar competition coming this spring. Due to the popularity of its original format for contestants ages 14 and up, Sugar Land Town Square started the Junior Superstar competition last year.
The Junior version is based on the popular Sugar Land Superstar competition – an American Idol-like singing competition held each summer. Junior Superstar spotlights the community’s younger vocal talent, and will ultimately name one winner who will be awarded a prize pack from Town Square retailers and the opportunity to perform at future Sugar Land Town Square events.
Open auditions will be held in the Plaza of Town Square on Wednesday, March 28 from 5 – 7 p.m. All participants should be prepared to sing for 60 – 90 seconds without musical accompaniment and each contestant must be a resident of Fort Bend County to be eligible for the competition. In addition, contestants must be at least 9 years of age at the time of audition and no older than 13 years of age at the finals on April 28.
Judges will select 15 finalists to perform during the live Junior Superstar competition on Saturday, April 28 from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Plaza, which will culminate in one finalist being named Sugar Land Junior Superstar.
