The Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair, one of the most anticipated culinary attractions in Texas, received top acknowledgment for their redesigned website with an AMA Crystal Award for Best Website (Small Budget) at the Houston Chapter – American Marketing Association’s awards presentation on May 23.
Blue Sky Marketing, founded by Michelle LeBlanc, was a key enforcer in the complete website transformation, giving it a new contemporary look.
“Our main objective in the website redesign was to provide a superior site user experience with the most accurate information and real-time news regarding the five-day festival,” said Krystal Peay, director of the Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair. “We also created an advanced mobile site, enabling mobile device users with at-their-fingertips access to event locations, directions and scheduling.
The Sugar Land Wine & Food Affair is a non-profit organization that benefits a permanent scholarship endowment at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.
Key to the site’s major transformation was a strategic focus on making the ticket purchasing process easy, which in turn, would increase donations to the scholarship fund. The month of April witnessed a record-breaking 17,000 site visitors, 60,500 page views and 12,000 unique visitors.
