Sugar Land Police were called to the Macy’s department store in First Colony Mall last Wednesday after Macy’s loss prevention personnel got into an altercation with a suspected shoplifter.
Shortly before the store was to close a woman was seen leaving the store in possession of purported stolen merchandise. When store personnel attempted to stop her, a fight ensued.
She and the purloined property were eventually returned to the store and police took over. During the investigation it was determined that the woman was in possession of a device that removed magnetic sensor devises.
Graciela Martinez Solis, 57, of Mission, Texas was arrested. Her charges ranged from robbery for fighting with loss prevention personnel while taking store property, and possession of a device used to commit retail theft. She was later charged for failure to give police her real name and identifying information. According to police, she has a history of other criminal activity that includes other names.
