Terry Miller, with Fort Bend Poets Group, recently visited ee cummings grave in Boston the week of April 18.
When he arrived, it was difficult to find cummings’ grave, but as he rounded a rock wall, he spotted a robin on a low hanging branch. As he approached the branch the robin wouldn’t leave. Finally, when Miller got too close for his comfort, the bird took off. When Miller looked down beneath the branch where the Robin was perched….there was the cummings’ grave marker.
While he was there, Miller’s buddy, Hieu, and Miller spotted a plastic bag stuffed in a crevice of the stone wall behind cummings’ grave. When they opened it, they found a tin that contained a small book of folks who had visited cummings grave since the 1960s.
We signed our names in the book and placed it back into its hiding place.
