Each year, the Austin Angels Dance Team helps families who are in crisis, enjoy a special holiday. The Angels rallied to contribute their fashion sense, knack for fun, and love for shopping to gather the items need to make this a special holiday for these families. This is the eighth holiday season the Angels have adopted a families. This year the Angels decided to adopt two Austin High School families that have both been faced with the loss of their homes. This is their way to give back to those who are in dyer need especially during this holiday season.
Mrs. Elizabeth Heathcock (director of the Austin Angels Dance Team) said, “Not only were we able to meet and exceed our adopted families wish list, we also had a great time building stronger relationships within our team by putting all the items together during our holiday celebration.”
Through this program, the girls are afforded the opportunity to engage in a “hands-on” project to provide assistance to families in need. By sponsoring a family, they help make the holiday’s truly blessed and spread cheer to others. The Austin Angels also volunteer in the community by volunteering their time for such activities as the Austin Angels Junior Clinic (April 28, 2012) and fundraising for a cause, like the Tracie Hester / Life Donor Scholarship Walk.
